5.0 out of 5 stars Fuels the imaginations of children! A fabulous book for all ages!
By Tara Zimmerman March 23, 2014
Format: Paperback
This is a well-written book that evokes the imagination of children. My children loved this descriptive story! It involves mystery and wonder along with funny expressions that keep children giggling. It covers topics that children can associate with such as: fear, worry, teamwork, and surprise. This book keeps children asking questions and anticipating what is going to happen next. Similar to the first book in the series by author Kristy Jo Volchko, Frogs Can Fly, the story also teaches children a moral. Within this story, it educates children to not prejudge the worth or value of something by its/his/her appearance alone. From an elementary school teacher’s perspective, this is a fantastic book to introduce students to the metaphorical phrase “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. My children, students, and I are excited to find out what new adventures are next in this Cackleberry Creek series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hear Kids Squeal with Fun and Anticipation
Byjguskyon February 23, 2014
Format: Paperback
Fun, colorful, suspenseful. Kids will love it! The characters come alive, just like they did in Kristy Jo Volchko’s first installment of the Cackleberry Creek series, Frogs Can Fly. But, more than that, Volchko seems to know the child’s mind and imagination and vividly portrays it. She also has lessons to share, about the fears that kids can cultivate especially when they band together and how no one ever deserves to be left out or shunned….not even “monsters.” Great book for kids, parents, and children’s libraries.

We have the paperback copy and poster of this book, it is just as funny as The Clubhouse Cabobble {the third book in this series} we purchased on kindle cloud. A sweet little mystery where these very real-like critters who live at a place called cackleberry creek, end up scaring the berries out of each other over muddy footprints, missing pies and nighttime howls thinking the worst. Some kind of very rude pie stealing monster of course. Kids do tend to have really over the top imaginations and this is exactly that type of fun. It all turns out wonderful in the end but not before some uproarious antics. A jolly book I definitely recommend!

Operation Scrub-A-Dub Skunk

AmirKinnert78  Says:

Perfect for children of all ages simply because of its tremendously valuable message. This storybook is about far more than a sensational and ostracized skunk that doesn't have friends because of his pungent odor. It cleverly reminds children about courtesy, helpfulness, tolerance, and that the uniqueness of each of us can be received and even celebrated. The author artfully presents this lesson in an awe-inspiring and riotous way. Fantastic!

DMartin Says:

The Clubhouse Cabobble will be a classic! Kristy Volchko hits the mark once again in this gut-busting, slapstick tale about a group of very lively farm 'critters'. It's no holds barred as this loveable bunch battle it out (In good fun) over a much sought after tree/club house. Entertaining and witty the entire way through, a FUN book for kids. Kristy Volchko's books seem to always have a core moral lesson inched in there, and the value of real friendship is the case with this one. A children's masterpiece.

We've read all three Ebooks in this series and the club house book is by far the best one yet. Bright colors & pictures and the story is so original and laugh out loud. This group of farm friends have a disagreement over the rights to an oak tree house and ultimately decide to compete for it. They talk a lot of smack and go through the ringer for this clubhouse but there is an important moral in all this in the end. -5 STARS KRISTY V!

Kristy Jo Volchko has another hit with her fourth installment of the Cackleberry Creek children's books series. Those loveable critters come together once again to bring an important message to children (and parents)--the value of friendship, tolerance, and acceptance. They are set with a conundrum this time. How can you include a skunk in your circle of friends. The smell is too much!!! With dedication and kindness they work together to figure out a way. They try several angles with fun and humor in the process. The final solution catches you off guard. It is simple and funny and shows how kids can creatively adapt in order to extend a hand of friendship and inclusion to those on the outside looking in.

Fun story with twists and turns. I definitely was surprised at the end and that's the best kind of story. You can usually predict how it's going to go but we were happily surprised. Paperback is pricey so we got the ebook. This poor skunk just wants a friend and these animals try so hard to help Siggy feel included. A happy story for anyone that feels they don't fit in.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I recommend it mainly to kids, however preteens would also enjoy. It was fun to read, I really got into the characters' adventure. This book will help kids development of consideration, compassion, in addition to enjoying life. Lastly, the artwork throughout the book gave a great depiction of the story.

A charmingly funny tale about friendship and compromise. Davy Frog's surprise birthday bash is a huge hit and everyone on the farm is there to celebrate! Lulu and her pals are determined to help Siggy get rid of his bad odor and change his life for the better! Will Operation Scrub-A-Dub Skunk be a success and help Siggy finally have friends and not be left out of all the fun? The Clubhouse Cabobble

5.0 out of 5 stars Kindness, Friendship, and Fun Rule in Cackeberry Creek!
By jgusky on October 19, 2014
Format: Paperback

The Clubhouse Cabobble (3rd installment in the Cackleberry Creek series) by Kristy Jo Volchko is a heartwarming story of friendship and kindness and living in harmony. Just like little bands of young children playing together in their own world of imagination and fantasy, often oblivious to the adult world around them, the critters of Cackleberry Creek seek adventure and fun. Their relationships are not dictated by adults but cultivated amongst themselves as they play and plan, share and compete, face new challenges and even disappointments.

The harshness of today’s world to which children are daily exposed doesn’t penetrate Cackleberry Creek. And what a breath of fresh air that is. Even when sharing turns into competition or strongly opposing interests, winning doesn’t turn out to be the goal after all. Kids will love this story. And parents will love reading it to them. Volchko’s character development vividly and colorfully illustrated through each of the three stories in the series will enchant kids and have them asking for more.

5.0 out of 5 stars A story for all ages!

Unique, and talented. Two words I would choose in an arsenal of many to describe the author I can now call my friend – Kristy Jo Volchko. She is unique because of her uncanny sense of imagination that brings her to an unparalleled platform in children’s literature. She shares the insight that a child does in her writing, which would explain just why her stories are so entertaining; even to an audience much older than who her stories are meant for! Some writers are meant to write certain genres. Kristy was born to write Children’s books. She shares a child’s passion with every chapter she writes. If you haven’t yet read any of Kristy’s stories, please do yourself a favor, and read – ‘Clubhouse Cabobble’.

Well Lulu and the gang are back! What an adorable addition to the already fantastic series by Kristy Jo! Lulu and her pals learn an important lesson about healthy competition, cooperation and sharing. Sometimes winning isn't always what it seems to be, sometimes winning is actually sharing your reward and what better way to share your reward than with your friends at Cackleberry Creek! Here's another wonderful, imaginative and heart-warming story for any pre-school or elementary classroom. You'll want to make room on the bookshelf for this one!

Frogs Can Fly

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun, adventurous read for all children that teaches a valuable life lesson!
ByTara Zimmermanon March 23, 2014
Format: Paperback
This is an exceptionally written book for children. It portrays the insecurities that many children often have through Lulu’s self-doubt early on in the story. However, it encourages the reader to be proud of the distinctive qualities that make him/her extraordinary. It teaches the reader to embrace his/her own strengths. Yet, the story promotes the reader to have an overall appreciation for all the unique traits that others possess as well.

From a teacher’s perspective, the book would be great to use in an elementary classroom to boost self-esteem and introduce diversity. The book also has the perfect combination of practical, every day vocabulary paired with more challenging words that can be taught through context clues. When this book was read aloud to my own children, they greatly enjoyed it. It kept their interest to the end! They were actively engaged throughout the story by asking questions, making specific comments, laughing, and enjoying the colorful illustrations. It is a terrific read that my children and students request repeatedly!
